Use Kitana in Slack

Start a review by mentioning Kitana with your images, read the result in the thread, and use the two Slack commands.

Each review costs one credit from the Kitana account the workspace is connected to
The commands are free.

Before you start, connect your Slack workspace.

Start a review

  1. Go to a public channel where the Kitana app is present.
  2. Write a message that mentions @Kitana.
  3. Attach 1 to 10 images to the same message.
  4. Send it.

Kitana replies in the thread that she is reviewing your assets. When the review is done, she posts the result in the same thread.

Reviews run in public channels only. A review is never private.

In a direct message, Kitana cannot start a review. She asks you to mention her in a channel with your assets.

The result

The result in the thread shows:

  • the overall score out of 100 and the verdict,
  • the five category scores: colour, typography, logo, layout and coherence,
  • a score card image, and
  • a Full report button.

Everyone in the channel can see the score card. The full report stays private to your Kitana account. To open it, you sign in to Kitana.

Every Slack review is also saved in your review history, with a Slack badge.

Choose the brand kit for a channel

Each channel reviews against one brand kit. If your account has only one kit, Kitana uses it.

Use the /switch_kit command to see or change the kit:

/switch_kit

Kitana says which kit the channel reviews against now, and shows buttons for up to three kits. Select a button to switch. To pick a kit that is not shown, type its name or its ID:

/switch_kit <kit name>

Only an owner or an admin of your Kitana workspace can change the kit for a channel. Archived kits are not offered.

If Kitana cannot tell which kit to use, she asks you to pick one with /switch_kit first.

Look up a review

Use the /get_review command with the review's ID:

/get_review <review id>

Kitana replies with the review's name, overall score, verdict and five category scores. The score card is shown only to you. This command does not spend a credit.

Notifications

Kitana posts one message when a review finishes, and one message if it fails. She sends no other notifications.
